What is the player registration for?
The player registration covers insurance cost. It is only due once a year and covers both the Valley and the Anchorage leagues. If you play in both league, be sure to notify the league administrator if you have already paid the player fee.

How many players play on the field?
Youth League: 6 players on the field and 1 goalkeeper.
Adult League: 5 players on the field and 1 goalkeeper.
Summer Outdoor: 10 players on the field and 1 goalkeeper.

How many players can I have on the roster?
There is no limit to the number of players on the roster, but three to four subs per game is recommended.

How long are the games?
Indoor: 25 minutes per half with a two minute half time.
Outdoor: 45 minutes per half with a five minute half time.

How many games will there be?
There will be ten games in a session.

What divisions are available?
We offer youth (U12, U14, & U16), men’s, women’s, and coed divisions.

What is the minimum age?
The minimum age for the adult indoor league is 16 with the following exceptions:

  • Players who have played in the adult league before.
  • Players who are in high school may play with their high school team.

The minimum age for the summer outdoor league is 14.

How can I get on a team?
Post a listing on our player bulletin board.

What about uniforms?
Teams are required to have matching colored shirts with a number on the back. Be sure to get extra shirts in case you add players to the roster after the session starts.

Can my team have a sponsor?
Yes! sponsors can be a great help in keeping the team fees down. Plus it is great advertising for them. Their name will appear on the game schedule, and probably your uniforms. In addition, their name, logo, and link to their web site will be displayed on the Mat-Valley Soccer Club site for the duration of the session.

Can I add players to my roster after the season starts?
Yes. Refer to How do I add players to my roster. However, it may take up to 1 week to get the roster printed and in the black book at the complex.

For Coed, how many Men can be on the field?
Indoor: There can be no more than 3 men on the field excluding the Goalkeeper.
Outdoor: There can be no more than 6 men on the field excluding the Goalkeeper.
You may play down a player if you do not have enough women.

What equipment do I need?

  • Shoes - Turf shoes are best, but outdoor cleats will work if the cleats are short. A good pair of court shoes will do too.
  • Shin guards
  • Soccer Socks must be worn over the shin guard and completely cover them
  • Shorts
  • Shirt - Matching shirts with a number on the back. Goalkeepers must wear a different colored shirt to set him apart from the rest of the team.

Important! Do not register as a player until you have made arrangements with a team manager to be on their team.

How do I add players to my roster?

  1. Go to the home page
  2. Select Edit Rosters from the blue menu on the left.
  3. Select the session, the league and your team and enter your team password.
  4. Type the player's first name and last name only. Enter their jersey number (this can be filled in later if you do not know it) then select submit .
  5. If a player is not found you may look them up from a master list of players. If they have not registered yet, you will have to come back after they have registered and submit the form again.

What if I am injured during a game?
We do not give refunds in the case of an injury, but you can file an insurance claim. Our policy provides a supplementary/excess combined maximum benefit not to exceed $5000 per incident after the incident deductible of $400 has been satisfied. You must file the claim within 60 days of the injury. Medical bills are not required to file the initial claim. They can be sent in later. Contact Don Richardson for a form.
